How to Prepare

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 5 cups of whole wheat flour with 1 tsp salt and 2 tbsp oil. Gradually add water (about 2 cups) to form a soft dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the finely chopped capsicum (5 medium)
  3. 2 tsp cumin powder
  4. 2 tsp coriander powder
  5. 1 tsp red chili powder
  6. 1 tsp garam masala
  7. 1 tsp amchur powder, and salt to taste to prepare the stuffing.
  8. Divide the dough into 20 equal portions. Take one portion, roll it into a small circle, place 1-2 tbsp of capsicum stuffing in the center, and fold the edges to seal it completely.
  9. Dust with flour and roll gently into a 6-7 inch circle, ensuring the stuffing doesn't spill out.
  10. Heat a tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the tawa and cook for 1-2 minutes until small bubbles appear. Flip and cook the other side.
  11. Apply 1/2 tsp ghee or oil on both sides and cook until golden brown spots appear. Repeat for the remaining dough balls.
  12. Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or butter.
