How to Prepare

  1. Heat 1 cup of ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
  2. Add 2 cups of semolina (rava) and roast until golden brown, stirring continuously for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, heat 4 cups of milk with 2 cups of sugar until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Slowly pour the milk-sugar mixture into the roasted semolina, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan, about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add 1 cup of chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins) and 1 tsp of cardamom powder. Mix well.
  7. Grease a tray with ghee, pour the halwa mixture into it, and spread evenly.
  8. Let it cool for 20 minutes, then cut into squares or diamond shapes and serve.
