How to Prepare

  1. Heat 1/2 cup of ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on low flame.
  2. Add 2 cups of gram flour (besan) to the ghee and roast it on low heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and let the roasted flour cool slightly for 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix 1.5 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
  5. Add the roasted gram flour to the sugar mixture and mix well to combine.
  6. Add 2 tbsp of chopped cashews and 2 tbsp of raisins to the mixture and stir evenly.
  7. While the mixture is still warm, take small portions and shape them into round laddus using your hands. If the mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tsp of warm ghee to bind it.
  8. Place the laddus on a plate or tray to cool completely for 30 minutes.
  9. Store the laddus in an airtight container once cooled.
