How to Prepare

  1. Roast 2 cups of besan (gram flour) in a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat for 10-12 minutes until it turns golden and aromatic.
  2. Add 1 cup of ghee to the roasted besan and mix well for 5 minutes on low heat.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tsp of cardamom powder to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of chopped cashews and 2 tbsp of raisins to the mixture and combine well.
  6. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, take small portions and shape them into small laddus (about 1 inch in diameter).
  7. Let the laddus cool completely for 1-2 hours before storing.
