How to Prepare

  1. Rinse and soak the raw rice in water for 6-8 hours.
  2. Drain the water and grind the soaked rice with grated coconut and a pinch of salt, adding water gradually to form a smooth, thin batter.
  3. Transfer the batter to a bowl. The consistency should be watery, unlike regular dosa batter.
  4. Heat a non-stick dosa tawa on medium flame and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa, spreading it thinly in a circular motion. Do not spread too much as Neer Dosa is naturally thin.
  6. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges start lifting. No need to flip; Neer Dosa is cooked on one side only.
  7. Fold the dosa into a triangle or roll it and remove from the tawa.
  8. Repeat the process for the remaining batter. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
