How to Prepare

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 10 cups of whole wheat flour with 2 teaspoons of salt.
  2. Gradually add 3-4 cups of water to the flour mixture and knead into a soft, pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 40 equal portions (2 paranthas per person).
  4. Roll out each portion into a small circle, apply 1/2 teaspoon of ghee, and fold it into a triangle or square shape.
  5. Roll out the folded dough again into a larger triangle or circle, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  6. Heat a tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled parantha on the tawa and cook for 1-2 minutes until small bubbles appear.
  7. Flip the parantha, apply 1/2 teaspoon of ghee on the cooked side, and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown spots appear.
  8. Flip again, apply ghee on the other side, and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from tawa.
  9. Repeat the process for all portions. Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or curry.
